Temperance - Justice

I went back to my design to figure out how to improve the character, and found that it had very poor sources of influence, being largely influenced by other games. I decided to look at where games take influence from, history, myth, legend, and religion. I spent a lot of time looking for historic and mythological characters who were about justice and balance. I first looked into Norse mythology, looking at Tyr, the god of Justice. I then looked into symbolism for justice, and mostly found lions and eagles which represent justice. After a quick look into Hindu deities, I found them too complex, as the normally seemed to embody different roles and ideas.

I then thought of Lady Justice, one of the most famous figures in law and justice, and looked at what influenced her. I found that the statue of Lady Justice, blindfolded (or blind), with a sword and set of scales, is very much the same description as Nemesis, the Greek goddess of divine retribution. Although nemesis is often seen with a sand glass instead of scales, she is portrayed with each depending on who depicts her.

I decided to take the idea of Nemesis, and influence my design on her, using my previous designs as influence.
