Final Animations.

These next three animations are the three I have worked towards. The first one I made was an idle cycle.

After creating this animation, I imported the starting key frames into the reference character file and created a separate version of the character reference so the character is already in a specific stance to reference into the run and walk scenes. my only gripe with this animation is I feel the right hand comes up too high, however I feel that in the context of a fighting game on a more realistically proportioned character, it might look more realistic. My idea for creating fighting style animations stemmed from games such as Street Fighter, Tekken, and Mortal Kombat.

This walk cycle was created using the fighter stance reference I created to try and keep a solid consistency between the three animations. From watching the cycle back in a loop, it might have been worth raising the right hand some more so it is a little further back and behind his head, however that might have been a little TOO reminiscent of Scorpion from Mortal Kombat.

The run cycle I feel works well and thoroughly portrays the aggressive nature of the character. This cycle contains aspects that I left out of the walk which I felt were too reminiscent of Scorpion, but in the run cycle I think it works well and avoids that obvious comparison. Aside from this, I think the weighting of the run, with the short stop as the foot hits the ground and the extension of the legs in general works well to create realism.
