Anticipation.

Anticipation is the action or pre-action which occurs before the main action. Examples of this are the cue moving backwards and forwards before taking a shot in Hustle Kings, a pool game on PSN.

A bad example of anticipation in games can be seen in Mario for the Wii U. When Mario or any character go to do an animation, the animation instantly starts with no wind up or pre animation.
