Queen – mini bio

The Queen began life as the daughter of a smith within her tribe. Through her father, she learned of weaponry, armours and above all, who her father worked for within the tribes’ army. From a young age she showed intellectual prowess, learning more about the workings of the tribe, and their army and their governance, earlier than other girls her age. At the age of fourteen, she overheard military men discussing a threat from the east, another tribe wanted their land. Within the discussion she heard of how their tribe planned to defend against the attack, so she stepped forward and told them their plan would fail, and what the army should do instead. The soldiers paid little attention and scoffed at her ideas because of her age, but a higher up walked past and heard he idea. He took the young girl to the side and asked for more ideas on how they should defend. Put on the spot she froze, but as the man went to turn away, she began telling the man everything she thought from what she had heard. The officer was impressed with her strategic plans and put her ideas to use in the battle which ensued three days later.

To the surprise of the girl, their army won the battle using her strategy, and she was rewarded with an offer of a job, to take place within the military as a strategic planner. After several years of working for the military, the tribe earned reputation as a fearsome military powerhouse. The tribe leaders, King and Queen paid a visit to the military headquarters to see just what made their army so great. Upon visiting, they heard a young girls name mentioned a lot, and so they visited her in her room. During their meeting, the son of King and Queen entered, Prince. He and the girl instantly made a connection, and within a few months of knowing each other, Prince asked her to become his Princess, an offer she couldn’t refuse.

Whilst now a Princess, she still worked her job for the good of the tribe and she brought up others and taught them all she knew in terms of military tactics. This led her to step down from her job to mother a daughter. A few years past and King died of natural causes, leaving Queen in charge of the tribe. Grief stricken, Queen couldn’t cope with the responsibility of the entire tribe, and in a flurry of madness, took her life, as well as trying to take Prince and Princess with her. She failed, and her last words to Prince were words of regret for allowing him to partner a common girl. These words stuck with Prince, and though his love for Princess was too great for him to abandon or leave her, he could protect and groom his daughter so she would never make what he now considered a mistake.

Prince now was left to lead the tribe and became King, and Princess became Queen, their daughter becoming Princess. King’s first act as leader was to have built a large tower, using defensive ideas thought up by Queen, to house Princess. Obsessed with what his mother had told him, he would never let her out as far as their keep, making sure no commoner could ever see her. This act was one which would damn King into paranoia and disrepute. King made it a crime to try and see Princess, punishable by death though being burnt on a pyre. This only needed to happen a few times before people stopped trying. Despite Kings actions, Queen was still held in high regard by the people, and eventually became much more of a leader than King, taking more control over the people and actions of the tribe King deteriorated into uselessness as a leader, and unwarranted pride over the security of the tower that held Princess.

Several more years past like this until the events of the tinderbox story.
